Excellent apsc camera, ment to be for beginners but this camera is away advanced A++++

Purchased recently as a travel sized body. Super impressed with all the features usually found in a full body, squeezed into this small APSC

Versatile camera for all photography challenges - landscapes, portraits, nature.

As a long time Alpha camera owner this is the most comfortable I've been with any camera.

This is the first sony I've owned i was a devoted cannon owner I'm a semi pro but sold all my cameras and equipment eg: studio lights and all of my cannon equipment. Basically went into retirement with photography. The bigger is difficult in the daily truth. But recently took a trip to Canada. I missed camera outperformed anything I've used before.

I have had many cameras over the years but this new SonyA6700 offers something for everyone. The Sony out of camera colour palette is superb and the AF is almost unbelievable, its ability to lock on to virtually any moving subject is uncanny, making sharp images available no matter what the subject is doing. The large grip is a joy and it holds the latest battery which will return approx 650 images meaning all day shooting is now possible without the need for an additional battery. Finally, thank you Sony for at last updating the menu system which used to be terrible. Over all this camera is certainly 5 stars.

I bought the camera and 16-50 lens kit as a lightweight travel camera. Previously have been a lifelong Canon user but the GX5 was just too small for me. It handles like a 'proper' camera and the quality is excellent. My only issue is that it is perhaps overly complex with too many programmable settings for a casual user and some of the advanced settings are impossible to work out given there are no manuals just a download link every time you have a problem. Sony didn't produce any training videos either so you are stuck with trawling through other enthusiast's submissions on YouTube. Am sure I will get there eventually, at the moment still learning my way through the system. If they had a camera with half the functionality available I would probably have bought that and given it 5 stars. Oh and apparently it shoots video.

Still getting used to the camera, but good so far. Auto focus excellent. Not tried video yet.

I havent event started going out yet. Just uograded my kit with just the body and I dont regret buying thia. The price point I think is just righ for its capability and my skills at present.

As an amateur photographer this camera has everything I need and lots more to learn to get the most out of it. I have a small hand size and it fits the grip perfectly, although I think anyone with a large hand may find their small finger ends up underneath the grip, which could be ok for support. Although the camera can be set to work in Auto mode and do everything for you, there are so many other modes to learn and use to get the best out of the camera and best quality images. There are way too many features to discuss here, but so far I have to say its an easy recommendation from me to any amateur, and probably professional photgraphers, to get and use this camera.

The camera is well built and feel sturdy in the hand and is just the right size to slip into a bag, the features and image quality of this camera is amazing and the video capabilities seem endless! However if you come from the older menu systems (such as the ones on at the a6000 ) the new menu system may feel unnatural at first but you get used too it pretty fast.

I purchased in June 2023 very good product operates well . only problem with poor design eye piece cover that clips on , this can slip off had to replace twice,

The actual product that has me committed to Sony cameras is the Sony 70-350 G lens. I initially tried that lens with a Sony a6400 and was highly impressed with the reach and the IQ. I decided to replace my Canon EF 100-400 L IS II lens with Sony a6700 + 70-350 G lens combination which together weighs less than the Canon 100-400 lens but has more reach, portability and fun-factor than that Canon lens alone. I am currently trying out other Sony lenses such as the 16-55 G and 18-135 and comparing them with my main Canon R setup. Currently my Canon R6 II + RF 24-105L lens still edges out the a6700 + 16-55 in most cases but that is not unexpected. The Sony FF bodies I find interesting (a1, a9) are expensive compared to the R6 II. However keeping on point about the a6700, I have to say it has very well and truly replaced the Canon telephoto setup for me because Sony has excellent support for APS-C and the a6700 overall is the best APS-C body I could have had.

I purchased the A6700 to replace my Nikon D7500 DSLR, mainly for the crop sensor, the autofocus and tracking, plus the many other features this camera offers. I paired it with the Tamron 150-500mm lens, the tracking and autofocus are very good indeed, but the image quality in jpeg is poor, very noisy above 3000 ISO and not what i was expecting from a modern mirrorless camera, so in that respect i find myself disappointed with my purchase.

It was a big decision to buy this camera from a former Nikon user. Ive gone from having a D5600 to the a6700 and wish I did so sooner. There are so many features that don't get spoken about that just blew me away. Really happy with this purchase!

I’ve had this for a couple of months now and it’s been a brilliant little camera. I pair it with the 200 to 600 lens and it gives amazing reach as its APC.

As someone that had never previously used Sony cameras, I was looking for a smaller lighter alternative to my Full frame equipment for a "carry everywhere" or vacation set up. As video is now taking up a large part of what I shoot, it had to have good video specs and performance. I've had the camera now for several weeks and honestly have to say it's an amazing little camera, small, light with incredible photo and video performance (especially for an APS-C sensor), and gives my full frame equipment a run for it's money. I'd heard a lot about Sony's amazing AF and tracking abilities, and to be honest, it doesn't disappoint and the AF performance in video especially is simply amazing. Fully equipped with all the AI subject tracking modes from it's big brother (the A7R V), it certainly doesn't disappoint. Sure I'd like it to have twin card slots and a higher resolution screen and EVF, but it's still very workable and I guess keeps the price competitive ? Highly recommended.

Still getting to grips with this amazing device, but so far in comparison to my previous cameras including my Canon DSLR it's infinitely better. The auto focus is absolutely amazing and class leading apparently, lightning fast and pin sharp almost always, when it isn't it's usually due to movement when using a slower lens. The bundled 18-135mm lens is a fantastic starter lens, I've photographed landscapes from mountains, portraits at party's, even pictures of white tailed eagles from a boat. I can't wait to see what more can be achieved with this camera and with more lenses.

We love our A6700 for Vlogging. Small and nimble but packs so much in.

I bought this 2 months ago and it's so small and compact, it's so easy to always carry it around everywhere. Don't be fooled though by it's small footprint. It packs a hefty punch as a high-end semi-professional camera body, suitable even for professional work.

I bought the a6700 after extensive research and I have to say that it has exceeded my expectations in almost every way. As an amateur photographer I am so pleased with the image quality that I no longer covet a full frame camera and will enjoy this smaller/lighter device and lower cost lenses. I cannot believe the extensive and advanced features that Sony have managed to include, not least that it has changed the way I capture images and video. For example, I now shoot action in aperture priority thanks to ISO AUTO Min. SS and the excellent focus system with subject recognition allowing for practically full-time wide and/or zone shooting. Video capture really is next level with 4K 10 bit 4:2:2 in S-Log 3 producing outstanding results. I rate this camera at 4.5 out of 5 as I have one (just one) issue, the missing 25p frame rate in PAL H.265 (XAVC HS 4K). This means that I have to record video in H.264 (XAVC S 4K) unless Sony update the firmware. Make no mistake, this is a feature rich device and to get the best out of it will require some dedication. but the available customisation of buttons, dials, memories and user menu’s allows this camera to be set up exactly how you would like it. The six (reduced size) images attached to this review were taken with the Sony 18-135mm lens and the last two images show compare ISO 100 with ISO 12800 (after 50% denoise).

Wanted a lightweight camera with good image quality and has lived up to my expectations highly recommended

I had a Sony a6300 before this camera, the improvements, The improvements the a6700 are huge. I do wildlife photography, and I needed a faster focusing camera, along with the Sony 70-350 lens it's a brilliant set up, light to carry and a good price.

Used it for bands and wildlife no problems various lens and 1.4x

This is a hugely capable and very responsive all-rounder that now coalesces all the excellent features from around the Sony stable into one compact package. I bought the A6700 primarily as an accessory for my Sony G 200-600mm to get the maximum out of it and it does that handsomely. The animal-tracking AF is amazing and has the parameters to fine tune it for all situations. As a result my number of keepers has increased dramatically. The fully-articulating screen is a very important feature for me and I missed it from my days with the R1. It’s great to have it back and I’m not much disturbed by it not being on-axis - it’s just like using a video cam - no problem. Screen resolutions are good and manual focus is far easier than it used to be because of it. The touch controls work well and are reasonably responsive. I’m using them more, especially when the screen is folded out and easy to access. There is plenty of display customisation. The redesigned grip is also very welcome and while I needed a baseplate attached to the A6000 to provide support for my little finger, I don’t need one with the A6700. However, the on-off switch is ergonomically poor with a tiny little pip to operate it and an awkward location when in the off position. I would have much preferred the solutions used on the F828 or the R1. The IBIS is nice to have and allows shooting hand-held down to 1/15th sec. with my Touit 50M but I never had problems without it for the shooting I do. The improved menu system, focus bracketing, compressed lossless RAW and front control dial all make this a great piece of equipment. I’m going to enjoy learning and using it very much.

Bought to go along with my two A7 series cameras and to be honest it outcompetes the A7iii and in some respects the A7IV, only downside is a miss a joystick, only APC some will say, but i have no issues with that and in my opinion is much better at high iso that the two full frame mentioned. One card slot not an issue for me.

Great images, easier menus, super quality. Focussing really easy. No need for full frame for me.

I bought this a few weeks ago as a present to myself for a milestone birthday, to replace the A6000 I’d had since that was released. I haven’t had time to test everything, but I’m really impressed so far. It’s much more than just a step up from the A6000 - the auto focus and tracking is just amazing.

I have only had this camera for a couple of weeks, upgrading from a6500. I am now trying to get to grips with the many difference - it is harder than I thought it would be. The lack of a decent user manual is a downside, especially if this is your first Sony. The "menu" layout is still challenging, but better than on a6500. I hope it will be as nice a camera to use as the a6500 has been.

I bought the a6700 to replace my a6400 which I’ve had for some 3 years & been delighted with. I am a keen amateur & predominantly do photography rather than video. With the recent arrival of a new grandson I’m increasingly doing far more videography as well. The specification & rave reviews of the a6700 made it easy for me to choose this model. I’ve no intention of changing to full frame in the foreseeable future as I like the size & weight benefits of Sony’s aps-c system. I’ve already accumulated a good selection of Sony & Sigma lenses which I will continue to use. The benefits of the aps-c crop factor are really beneficial to my interest in photographing birds & other wildlife.

I bought this nearly two weeks ago and have not put it down! The menus were extensive but logical, pics are amazing. Have not used my other cameras since. Bought the adapter to use my alpha lenses, they work fine ! Very 😃

I’ve had this 2 weeks now I was previously a DSLR user. I find the poor quality EVF very difficult to get used to after being able to see a crisp image through the VF on my old DSLR. Otherwise very pleased with the build quality and compactness. Being so compact the camera is more likely to come out with me than my old bulky DSLR.

Although I have had the camera for only a few days, it feels great in the hand and performs just as I had hoped. I will be selling my Sony A7Rii and its kit because, at 86, I find it too heavy.

I bought this to take high quality photos because the quality of phone cameras is not good enough. You will not be disappointed with this camera, suggest buying a lens if you want to zoom more. Camera is so good the video it shoots is to good for my pc, but it can be charged from H265 to H264 in the camera so older computers can handle the video.

bought as a second camera mainly for holidays and used it for it immediately for a trip to Faro. The size and weight of the camera plus a lens suits me perfectly, the autofocus is amazing, its certainly better than my SonyA7 4. I can imagine this being my main camera! Wish it had a joy stick though!

This was my first Sony camera purchased since moving across from Nikon Z. Fully Featured camera in a compact design. Eye autofocus snaps on and is outstanding. 10Bit video is superb, Articulating screen is great for selfie or low level photography/video.. Absolutely love this camera.

Despite owning an A1 and A7S3 I found myself needing something smaller and easier to carry for family day’s out etc and to grab videos for stock and much more. I debated long and hard on this choice and I must say it’s now my favourite camera!

I purchased the A6700 as an upgrade to my A6300 and wow what an upgrade! So much new tech in this camera, articulated touch screen, far superior menu system - laid out in such away that makes it much easier to use. Handling is much improved with a larger grip. Focusing is lighting quick and accurate, locks on to human eyes, animal etc. All in all a huge upgrade and a powerful camera in a compact APS-C format. I would definitely recommend.

I bought the A6700 about 3 week sago and have extensively used it for birds and sports photography. The camera is a big improvement over my previous A6400 in terms of ergonomics, but the much touted AI autofocus does a poor job in acquiring focus birds in flight, missing so much that I have reverted back to wide zone AF without tracking. With birds perched in trees I often get better results using spot AF. Hopefully a firmware update will improve subject AF for birds.

After reading the reviews, especially relating to the AI and autofocus, I decided to upgrade my A6600 which has given me great service. I my interest is in Safari and Travel, so I use it with the Sony 70-350 and Zeiss 16-70, both cover the focal lengths I need. Not had the camera too long, but my initial reactions are the handling is very much better than the A6600 due to a much nicer grip, layout of the controls and menu. The focussing is excellent, but am yet to use it on wildlife. Off to India and the Himalayas in a few weeks time and hope to give it a thorough test then

I upgraded from an a6400 to this new model because of the larger, more powerful sensor, AI processing, better menus, IBIS and various other features. So far the results have been great with still photos and hope to try movies soon. However, I do agree with other reviews saying that at this price point to not be able to charge the camera out of the box is ridiculous...

Bought recently, camera already crashed totally. Couldn't switch off or on. Gets hot too.

Purchased from a UK dealer. Sadly Sony do not provide a charger nor a charging lead. Both the battery supplied with the kit and the Sony spare I purchased were completely exhausted so I was unable to test my new acquisition which was so disappointing. After 3 hours charging using a cable I found, the battery achieved a charge of 15%. I have therefore ordered a Sony wall charger at a significant cost and hope that I’ll soon be able to charge my batteries. NEVER in my life have I purchased a battery powered device that came without a charger or even a compatible cable. I cannot understand the logic of failing to provide an item that is essential to begin to use the device.

Great little camera but the sound of the IBIS mechanism on video is annoying in quiet environments :-(.

I was looking to upgrade from an a6000 (which is a great beginner camera for learning in a compact form with capable stills) as it was starting to feel dated and a bit limiting, especially for being interested in trying out video. I was thinking of getting a full frame camera but was hesitant due to the larger, heavier form factor and more expensive accessories as I am a hobbyist. Then the a6700 came out and I was excited to check it out. It offered many quality of life improvements, some improvement for photography and greatly improved video that offers everything I need to fully explore and learn about video. After checking out many reviews online, I decided to go for it and I have to say I am happy with my decision and it even exceeded my expectations. To conclude, the a6700 is a powerful APSC camera with a relatively small form factor that feels great to use. It has great performance in photography and very capable in video. The only real drawback I can think of is that it can overheat over longer periods of intensive recording at high resolution, frame rate and bitrate. I personally don’t require this as I am more focused on photography and interested in shorter videos, which makes this camera a great pickup for me.

Mainly used for stills pictures. This is a really compact and lightweight interchangeable lens camera. I use this camera for everyday photography. This is my first Sony Camera. I would definitely buy another based on my experiences with it. Its been easy to pick up and use the features. Its been fun using it.

What a great camera focus so quick on it very impressive & a good size to handle

I bought this camera just under 3 weeks ago and I have been enjoying its use. It definitely is a significant upgrade from the a6400. Bigger battery, bigger grip, bigger body (albeit still compact) and a new menu system! The AI features are what make this camera very worthwhile. I do a fair amount of wildlife and nature photography. The way the camera locks onto its subject is superb and pretty quick. The image quality has a slight improvement and the general handling of the camera is really good. I am a bit disappointed with some of the overheating issues when recording video, but considering this is a hybrid camera and I shoot more photos than videos, I am not going to complain too much. I do hope Sony continues to support this particular product with firmware updates. It would also be good to have a Sony branded battery grip for this camera!

I had a Sony A7III with a selection of lenses I mainly used for travel / trips out. However I was finding I was not using it as much because of the weight and size. When I saw the a6700 come out I realised I could get great pictures and videos in a smaller / lighter package. I paired it with the 18 - 135mm lens and this fantastic package now does everything I need. On top of that the advance in technology means it's a better camera than the A7III in every way. I have refound my love of photography.

The α6700 is welcome, albeit overdue, update to Sony's APS-C range. It upgrades many camera features across the board, including superb subject-based detection for auto focus and a much improved grip. It is not perfect though. I immediately noticed low-level electromagnetic noise when I turned on the camera, presumably from the IBIS system (my α6400 didn't have this). Not a problem for stills photography, but it can be detected on video when using the built-in mics. It was also disappointing to discover that the panorama feature which was present on previous models has been removed. I realise this is a more serious model, but that was fun and convenient mode which I hope can be added back in a future firmware update.

Had this three weeks now and I used it to photograph a friends daughters wedding. Excellent images sharp, crisp and highly detailed. It replaced my A7R which is still a great camera but a bit old now.

Moving up from the A6400, I'm blown away by the improvements in this camera, from the larger battery through the image quality, the new photo/video/S&Q button and the expansion of the video capability. Glad to at last have a front dial, but would like to see the rear dial being programmable for use in manual mode to control shutter speed in photo mode, or ISO in video mode. Like all Sony cameras I've used, the jpeg picture colours (and therefore the view from display/finder are disappointing, but that's probably due to having been spoiled by Fuji for so long. One frustrating issue I have with the A6700 is that my Samyang FE 24mm f/1.8 lens, which works perfectly on my A6000, A6400 and A7M4, is unusable in CAF mode on the A6700, it simply won't hold focus, but hunts continuously. There's clearly something different about the A6700, compared to other Sony cameras that it doesn't like.

Recently bought this camera just to test the Sony APS-C camera range. Have to say even coming from full frame Sony cameras this one is a delight to use. Great image quality (and very little noise even at ISO6400!) - easy to set up and use. Not regretting my decision to buy it at all.

Been waiting for a while for this camera and was not disappointed. All my friends tell me the phots are 'absolutely fabulous' !

The camera i very good and focus well for me and the battery is bette than the A6300

I bought the a6700 to upgrade from the a6100. I love the Sony crop sensor format because it gives extra reach for wildlife and magnification for macro and there are great Sony & TP lenses for these uses. The latest autofocus AI is fantastic for mammals and birds. Insect recognition is not quite so excellent, but it's a great improvement on spot focusing. I tend to shoot insects in manual, so that's not an issue. The only downside right now is the camera is too new for DXO denoise to work. Can't comment on video performance.
