Why does the VAIO computer request for a dial-up connection when it is turned on?

    When the VAIO computer is sharing Internet connection, the computer will try to establish a dial-up connection when it is turned on.

    This symptom occurs when the Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server option is selected. The computer automatically synchronizes the time with the Internet time every 7 days. If more than 7 days passed since the previous synchronization, the computer tries to connect to the Internet at its startup time.
    In the environment where Internet connection is shared, the VAIO computer will try to establish a dial-up connection everytime when the computer is restarted in order to synchronize its time with the Internet time server.

    To avoid this symptom, please follow the steps below:
    1. Click Control Panel.
    2. Click Date, Time, Language and Regional Options and click Date and Time.
    3. Disable the Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server option and click OK.
