GPS positioning date displayed incorrectly on affected Digital Cameras, Video Cameras and Digital Recording Binoculars

Thank you for your continued interest in Sony products.

We have identified an issue where the GPS positioning date displays incorrectly. This is due to the GPS date information not being correctly recognized and unintentionally changed to an incorrect date. Also the Auto Time Correct function is not working as it should.
This issue was caused by the "GPS Week Number Rollover (*)" phenomenon, which occurred on April 7th, 2019 (Japan time).
(*)The week number in the date sent by the GPS satellite resets to 0 every 1024 weeks.

This affects the following Handycam® Digital Video Cameras, Digital Recording Binoculars, α™ (Alpha™) Interchangeable Lens Digital Cameras and Cyber-shot® Digital Still Cameras released between 2010 and 2013.

In order to correct this issue and avoid future occurrence, we request that users please set Auto Time Correct to Off and set the correct time again before using the product.
There are no problems with GPS positioning results or automatic area correction features.

We would like to apologize to our customers for the lateness of this announcement, and for any inconvenience caused. We hope you will continue to support Sony products.
