Unable to focus on the subject while the camera is on Intelligent Auto mode.
If there is a strong light source or a flashing incandescent lamp is on the shooting screen, the scene may be recognized as Macro, not Night Scene.
IMPORTANT: The modes below vary between camera models. Refer to the manual for specific information.
When shooting night scenes, change the shooting mode from Intelligent Auto to Scene Selection mode and select Night Scene, Twilight or Handheld Twilight. You can also change the shooting mode to Program Auto and select Center or Center AF in Focus Area
If people are the subject during a night scene, change the shooting mode to Scene Selection mode and select Night Scene, Twilight, Night Portrait or Twilight Portrait.
NOTE: For the RX series, try using DMF (Direct manual focus), MF (Manual focus), etc. if you still cannot focus even after trying the above.
