In this article, we will show four ways you can do this using different browsers.
Method 1: How To Translate a Whole Website With Google Translate
- Go to https://translate.google.com/ in a web browser. You can use any browser you'd like, but Google Chrome is recommended.
- Click Websites. This will be at the top, next to Documents.
- The field will change to Website.
- Enter a website URL into the field. Use the URL for the website you want to translate. For example: https://www.sony.co.in/electronics/support
- On Windows, highlight the URL and press CTRL + C to copy. Click the Website field and press CTRL + V to paste.
- On Mac, highlight the URL and press CMD + C to copy. Click the Website field and press CMD + V to paste.
- Click the blue arrow. This will open the website in a new page. At the top, you'll see the Google Translate toolbar.
- Adjust the language. Google Translate will auto-detect the website's language. If you think it's wrong, click the first language entry, and then select the language from the pop-up list. To change the language the website is translated to, click the second language entry, and then select the language from the pop-up list.
- For example, if the website is in English and you want to read it in Hindi, you should see English → Hindi.
Method 2: How To Automatically Translate a Page in Chrome
- Open Google Chrome web browser.
- Click on the three dots at the top right of the browser window.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Languages.
- Click on Add Languages under preferred languages. Add the language that you want to add (For example, Hindi).
- Arrange the order for the languages to prioritize the languages (preferred language at the top). To do that, click on the three dots at the right of the preferred language.
- Click on Move to the top and select Display Google Chrome in this language.
- Restart browser and supported web pages will appear in Hindi.
Method 3: How To Translate a Website in Google Chrome
- Open Google Chrome web browser.
- Click on the three dots at the top right of the browser window.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Languages.
- Select your desired language (For example Hindi) under Google Translate option so that popup of Google Translate will show Hindi as instead of English.
- When you land on a page that isn’t in Hindi, click on the Translate this page button in the address bar to open a popup. Then, select the option for Hindi:
Method 4: How To Translate a Website in Microsoft Edge
- Open Microsoft Edge web browser.
- Click on the three dots at the top right of the browser window.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Languages.
- Click on Add Languages under preferred languages. Add the language that you want to add (For example, Hindi).
- Arrange the order for the languages to prioritize the languages (preferred language at the top). To do that, click on the three dots at the right of the preferred language.
- Click on Move to the top and select Offer to translate in this language.
- Restart the Microsoft Edge web browser. When you land on a page that isn’t in Hindi, click on the Translate this page button in the address bar to open a popup. Then, select the option for Hindi:
