Camera Accessibility Functions
Learn about the camera’s accessibility functions (user assistance functions)

Screen Reader
Only some languages may be supported for this function depending on the model. This function is available only when the language set in the menu is supported by this function.
How to enable the screen reader function
Once you use the screen reader function on the initial setup screen, the screen reader function will be kept enabled after the initial setup, and you can switch on and off for the screen reader function by pressing and holding the MENU button.
The MENU button is located on the rear side of the camera, to the right of the eyepiece part of the viewfinder, immediately above the monitor, and is a horizontally long-shaped button.
If you have not used the screen reader function on the initial setup screen, you can enable the function from the MENU.
On the MENU screen, configure the following settings:
Select (Setup) → Accessibility → Screen Reader → Screen Reader → On
How to set the speed when reading aloud
Select (Setup) → Accessibility → Screen Reader → Speed → Sets the speed when reading aloud.
How to set the volume when reading aloud
Select (Setup) → Accessibility → Screen Reader → Volume → Sets the volume when reading aloud.
How to enable the screen reader function by pressing and holding the MENU button
Select (Setup) → Accessibility → Screen Reader → Long Press to Switch → On
Enlarge Screen
Each time you press the C1 button (Custom Btn 1) on the MENU screen, the magnification scale switches to the scale you have set in Magnification. You can move the displayed position using the front dial, rear dial L, or rear dial R, or by turning the control wheel. You can also move the displayed position using touch operations while the screen display is magnified when Touch Operation is set to On and Menu Screen under Touch Panel Settings is set to On.
How to enable the enlarge screen function
On the MENU screen, configure the following settings:
Select(Setup) → Accessibility → Enlarge Screen → Enlarge Menu Scrn → On (Custom Btn 1)
How to set the magnification to use for the function to enlarge the screen display.
Select(Setup) → Accessibility → Enlarge Screen → Magnification → Select the magnification to use for the function to enlarge the screen display.
Focus Magnifier
How to enable the focus magnifier function
- Select (Focus) → Focus Assistant → Focus Magnifier
- Press the center of the control wheel to enlarge the image and select the area you want to enlarge using top/bottom/left/right side of the control wheel.
How to use the focus magnifier function by touch operation (When shooting in manual focus mode)
When Touch Func. in Shooting is set to Touch Focus, you can magnify the image and adjust the focus by touching the monitor.
When the focus mode is Manual Focus, you can perform Focus Magnifier by double-tapping the area to focus on while shooting with the monitor.
While shooting with the viewfinder, a frame is displayed in the center of the monitor by double-tapping and you can move the frame by dragging it. The image is magnified by pressing the center of the control wheel.
On the MENU screen, configure the following settings:
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Operation → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel/Pad → Set properly for your use.
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Shooting Screen → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Touch Func. in Shooting → Touch Focus
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Pad Settings → Set properly for your use.
Focus Map (Movie)
How to enable the focus map function
Select (Focus) → Focus Assistant → Focus Map → On
Peaking Display
How to enable the peaking function
Select (Focus) → Peaking Display → Peaking Display → On
How to set the level of enhancement of in-focus areas
Select (Focus) → Peaking Display → Peaking Level → Sets the level of enhancement of in-focus areas.
How to set the color used to enhance in-focus areas
Select (Focus) → Peaking Display → Peaking Color → Sets the color used to enhance in-focus areas.
Subject Recognition in AF
How to enable the subject recognition in AF function
- Select (Focus) → Subject Recognition → Subject Recog in AF → On
- Select (Focus) → Subject Recognition → Recognition Target → Select a subject.
Touch Tracking
How to use the touch tracking function
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Operation → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel/Pad → Set properly for your use.
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Shooting Screen → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Touch Func. in Shooting → Touch Tracking
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Pad Settings → Set properly for your use.
Touch Focus
You can also touch a subject to focus on it when shooting movies. (When shooting with the monitor)
How to enable the touch focus function
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Operation → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel/Pad → Set properly for your use.
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Shooting Screen → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Touch Func. in Shooting → Touch Focus
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Pad Settings → Set properly for your use.
Note: This function is available when Focus Area is set to Wide, Zone, Center Fix, Tracking: Wide, Tracking: Zone, or Tracking: Center Fix.
Touch Shutter
How to enable the touch shutter function
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Operation → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel/Pad → Both Valid or Touch Panel Only
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Shooting Screen → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Touch Func. in Shooting → Touch Shutter
Note: This function is available when Focus Area is set to Wide, Zone, Center Fix, Tracking: Wide, Tracking: Zone, or Tracking: Center Fix.
Touch AE
You can fine-tune the brightness by sliding the brightness adjustment bar that appears after touching. (When shooting with the monitor)

- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Operation → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel/Pad → Set properly for your use.
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Shooting Screen → On
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Panel Settings → Shooting Screen → Touch Func. in Shooting → Touch AE
- Select (Setup) → Touch Operation → Touch Pad Settings → Set properly for your use.
