How does Smart cleaner work? (Android 7.1.1 or earlier)

    Question

    • How does Smart cleaner work?

    Valid for

    • Android 7.1.1 or earlier

    Solution

Smart cleaner is a feature that improves the device performance by automatically optimising storage and memory depending on how frequently apps are used.

The cache memory for apps is checked once per day, and if it hasn't been used for over two weeks it's removed from the internal storage (ROM). Apps running in the background that hasn’t been actively used will also be terminated.

To enable or disable Smart cleaner

    1. Find and tap Settings > Storage & memory.
    2. Tap the switch beside Smart cleaner to turn the feature on or off.
